In an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and protect the health of the public, the Nebraska Bird Month team has canceled our promotion of Nebraska Bird Month events. That said, many of these amazing events, activities and programs were sponsored and brought to you by Nebraska's dedicated conservation and environmental education organizations and agencies. Each individual organization or agency will be making their own decision to proceed or cancel their events, activities and programs. Please check their website for more information.
As for Nebraska Game and Parks Commission sponsored events, all events have been canceled through May 31 at which time the Commission will reassess the situation.
If you are looking for online lesson plans and activities focused on teaching children about Nebraska's bird species, please visit the Project BEAK website - www.projectbeak.org. At this site, there are interactive games, quizzes, lesson plans as well as a wealth of information about Nebraska's bird species.

Please note, all state park areas including state parks, state recreation areas, state historic parks and wildlife management areas remain open and provide a wealth of opportunities to learn, enjoy and relax in nature. These sites are filled with amazing birds just waiting to be discovered.
