iNaturalist is a platform—both an app & a website—designed to let people share their observations of nature and create an official record that this species was seen at a particular location on a particular day.

When you make an observation, you’re contributing to the global iNaturalist database of when & where species are found. “Research grade” observations are also shared with other, larger, global biodiversity databases. These data and databases are important for scientists studying biodiversity and species ranges,

so you’re contributing to science!
